What Does That Make You?

Sometimes I don 't feel very pretty.

And by the world's standards, maybe I'm not.

But, guess what?

The world didn't make me, God made me.

And beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  The One who beholds me says I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and He says the same thing about you.

Do you realize that as He created you, a woman, woman was the final thing He created.  He stopped there.   As He spoke and created, He said "it was good" with each level of creation, it was only after He made man and then woman that He said it was "very good".

For the record, Genesis 2:31 says this -

And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good.
Emphasis mine ;-)
Yes, the beauty was in the eye of the Beholder.

And it was very good, friend.

You were made in His image (Gen 1:27), and I think you kinda favor your Abba Daddy.   I heard He was more than cute .....
One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to meditate in His temple.
Psalms 27:4

Your eyes will see the King in His beauty

Isaiah 33:17

emphasis mine again ;-)

Friend, if you are made in His image, and we have proof in His word that He is beautiful,  what does that make you?

Beautiful.

Behold the beauty in that truth, for beauty truly is in the eye of the Beholder.
Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;
no shadow of shame will darken their faces.
Psalms 34:5
Look to Him.  Behold Him, and the beauty will radiate.

Beautiful Creator,
Be in their midst, Dance over them with singing, Quiet them with your love, and as they are quieted, may they hear you rejoice with shouts of joy over them.  (Zephaniah 3:17).  Remind them of how special and beautiful they are to you, and that it was "very good".

XOXO,
Amy

Wow! God sure taught me something through this post! I have a tendency to compare myself to the worlds version of beauty, which, now that I think of it, is just crazy! Just as I have the same dark brown eyes as my earthly Father, it only makes sense that I would resemble my Heavenly Father too! I can't believe that I never made this connection before. This post felt like a reassuring hug from my Abba Daddy, telling me that I'm beautiful just as I am, just as He made me.

Amy,

What a lovely prayer! Love the visual of Him quieting our souls and rejoicing over us. :) Thank you for that.

Isn't He so good at that? Quieting or souls? I love that about Him

Thanks for pointing us back to Scripture and reminding us that the Lord and beautiful and we are beautiful because we are made in His image. I appreciate that you bring us back to Scripture.

Without Scripture it would simply be an opinion! His opinion certainly is more important than mine. Glad you liked it!
