Gracious God,
Another year lies before me. May I not look at is as my own to do with as I choose, but may I look at it as time that belongs to You. I am not my own, I was bought with a price, and as the days of 2013 belong to You, so do I.
Your presence is so sweet. Your voice so soothing. I would rather belong to none but You, Jesus. My heart longs for the day I look into your face and behold the eyes that have lovingly watched me. Audibly hear the voice that has whispered my name. Touch the hand that ever reaches for mine. And wash the feet that have faithfully pursued me mile after mile.
How could I do less but give the days of 2013 back to You?
If I can't package these days to give back as a gift to You, let me see with your eyes. Let me see beyond the faces before me, into the souls behind the eyes. Prompt me, Holy Spirit, with ways to breathe life into those who desperately need your touch. Show me how to love them in a way that speaks love in their language. Father, make You appealing within me. Make me approachable to the weary so that I may go with them to approach your throne.
God I need You.
And, God, they need You.
I have You.
And they need what I have.
Father, I know there's enough of You for all of us, so let You be multiplied through me.
An awareness of the days, an awareness of the faces, an awareness of the hearts....
An awareness of the souls - That's what I ask you from you for 2013.
For tomorrow is NOT just another day.
