Ever feel unlovable? Oh, I do. If we feel unlovable, what would make us loveable? Would I be loveable.... If my house were clean and organized? If I made my bed each morning as soon as I got up? If I never had a battle with one of my children? If I memorized 658 verses? If I was a good wife and made sure there was a plan for dinner daily before 4PM? If I didn't have those thoughts about that person? If I hadn't responded to my husband that way? Would I be loveable then? The IF's we could use are endless. It's when I feel unlovable that I have to step back and get some fresh perspective. All of the IF's have something to do with me and what I can do to become someone who can be loved, but that's really not how it works and I'm so thankful that's true. If it were only possible to be loveable after accomplishing all the IF's, we would never get there. Right now, I give you permission to stop trying. Stop trying to be loveable. Just BE LOVED. He taught me to BE LOVED through my name and the meaning of it a long time ago. For as long as I can remember, I have known that the meaning of my name, Amy, is beloved. As I thought one day about the meaning of it, I saw it. BE - LOVED. Amy, just be loved. It was a gift. And even though your name may not be Amy, I will gladly share the meaning with you and tell you it ok to just be loved. He loves you and wants you to receive it and just BE LOVED, without all the IF's. ....because of His great love with which He loved us, He didn't love me with my loveable-ness, He didn't love me with any list of completed IF's. What does it say He loved us with? His Great Love Since God is love and since all love is from God (1 John 4:7-8), He already had everything He needed to love us with. It has nothing to do with us and everything to do with Him. Just BE LOVED and accept that gift today, sweet friend. And if you want to change your name to Amy to help you remember, I'm cool with that. ;-) God, You have created magnificent loveable women that often feel unlovable, which is not news to You. In your great love would you help them see what I saw in Ephesians 2:4, You used your great love to love them and did not use anything else. You are love and the source of it. Seeking You is where we will find the love we so desperately need. Open our hearts and minds to see the hidden "ifs" that we think we must accomplish to win your heart. Your heart is already ours. And that is what makes me able to love you back. P.S. Wanna worship with me for a minute? Just play the video below. Thanks, Deanna. I don't know why we so easily discard this truth and exchange it for less!

Thanks, Amy! I have been feeling a bit unloveable this evening and I think that in the midst of it, I need to remember to 'Be Loved' by Him even when I don't feel in the loving mood. Then, I can spread more of the love around!! I also like how you shared the meaning of your name with us. I have been pondering over the meaning of my name lately and how I think God tries to speak to us through our names. Blessings!

The other day our pastor was talking about how God isnt a father who has a favorite. Just like we as parents would never dream of loving, or giving to just one child, God doesnt do that either. I've been overwhelmed with that reality this week. It is so easy for me to agree and believe that God loves me just as much as you, or Whitt, or others in my church. But God loves me and wants to give Himself to me in ways He gave to Peter, and John even! The beloved disciple!! He loves ME Camillia Nicole Madden just as much as His disciples! They are also my brothers thru Christ! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!

Reminds me of that story we read when we did the study Deeper. The grand kids all thought they were grandmas favorite because she knew how to live them in a way unique to each one. He knows how to love me and you in just the way we need it!
