Scary Statistic - Start With Conversation

80% of churchgoing families do not have values-based conversations during the week.
I read that stat in the book Leaving Ordinary by Donna Gaines this morning and it bothered me.  It explains a lot to me about the state of our culture.   It's not that I didn't suspect this to be the case, I just hadn't seen it in black and white.  80% is a big number.
Let's be part of the 20%
To be part of the 20%, we will have to be intentional.  The busyness of the life we live in will not afford us the opportunities to do it if we aren't looking at each moment with our spiritual eyes.  We have to make Jesus relevant to the every day things we encounter or our children will walk into adulthood not seeing Him as relevant to the decisions they make and the life they live.  They may not see a need for Him at all and walk away.

That thought breaks my heart, not just for my kids, but for yours too.

This is a big world in which we live and we often look at the state of things with despair, thinking that its hopeless and that there's nothing we can do to change it.  This is something we can do something about.  We may not see the impact while we are here, but those coming behind us will.

It can start with intentional conversation.

Who will join with me in being the 20%?

I know from personal experience that being in the 20% can be the difference in making it in today's World or not making it. Also, having my Grandchildren in church and allowing them to see that we were in the 20% has made a positive influence on their lives and their decision to follow our example and give their lives to Christ.

I will definitely join you. Let the 20% spread the word & give hope back to this cruel world. If Jesus is for us then who can be against us. You can never have to much Jesus !
